Alcohol Polivinílico (PVA), or polyvinyl alcohol, is a synthetic polymer that finds widespread use in various industrial, commercial, and scientific applications. It is a water-soluble polymer, which makes it unique among other plastics and resins. PVA is generally derived by the polymerization of vinyl acetate, followed by the hydrolysis of the resulting polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) into polyvinyl alcohol. The final polymer can range in molecular weight, solubility, and viscosity, depending on the extent of hydrolysis.
